Care & Wash Guide

Delicate tights and elegant nylon stockings need a little love. With the right care routine, you can ensure your new favorite pieces keep their shape, the elastane stays supple, and they bring you joy for a long time. Here's what matters.

Proper Washing

  • Hand wash is best: The gentlest way to clean delicate hosiery is in a sink with lukewarm water and a little mild detergent. Don't wring, just gently knead!
  • Washing machine? Only with protection: If you're in a hurry, be sure to use a fine-mesh laundry bag. This prevents the delicate threads from snagging on zippers or bra hooks of other garments.
  • Temperature: Wash your hosiery at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle or delicate cycle.

Drying & Storage

  • Air dry: Lay the tights flat on a dry towel or gently drape them over a clothesline.
  • Be careful when rolling: After drying, gently roll up your tights instead of tying them in tight knots. This protects the delicate fibers.
  • Store safely: It's best to store delicate hosiery in soft fabric bags or separate drawer compartments, away from Velcro fasteners or rough wooden edges.

Absolute No-Gos

  • No fabric softener! Fabric softener is the biggest enemy of elastane (Lycra). It clogs the elastic fibers, causing the tights to lose their shape, roll down at the waist, and lose their supportive function.
  • Avoid heat: Delicate hosiery has absolutely no place in the dryer. Never lay them on a hot radiator or iron them. Heat melts the fine synthetic fibers and makes them brittle.

Insider Tip for Hold-Up Stockings (Stay-ups)

If your hold-up stockings start to slip after a few wears, it's almost never because they've stretched out, but because of the silicone band. The silicone picks up skin flakes, residue from body lotion, and detergent, causing it to lose its "grip."

The solution: Simply wipe the silicone band with a clean, damp cloth (and possibly a tiny drop of mild dish soap or high-proof alcohol). Let it dry, and the band will grip like new again!
